I’m a former broadcasting/cable executive with more than 30 years experience in managing and creating non-fiction television shows for network, syndication and local major markets. Now in my vibrant boomer years I’ve traded the professional treadmill for a journey through “what’s next.” My blog Actthree explores that journey. I’d like to hear from other “former” professional boomer women who are in the midst of their own new journeys. Who knows – the essays could be included in my blog, which might turn into a book someday. Email them to me at joyceactthree@gmail.com.
“who am I without a fancy job?”
Joyce, this is – I think – a koan for meditation somewhat like Martine Batchelor’s oft used “What is this?”
Fred
That’s what act three will be about. Thanks Fred.
Joyce, I’m looking forward to following your new blog and learning from your journey, as I have learned from you in the past.
Jayne
Thank you Jayne! Actually it’s you who’ve been my mentor!
Joyce, I am also a member of the exclusive club — The Baby Boomers. 🙂
Hi Joyce,
I live here on AMI part time, hope to run into you sometime, biking, yoga, or at Ginny’s, who knows:)
Shannon
I need to work until retirement age but a boomer which means over 1/2 century old now. But now onto my….12th employer in past 30 yrs. Not a dilettante, just several different things happened career-wise.
Some time out did include jumping into the world of blogging –3 blogs of which 2 support companies. I also write for a 4th organization’s blog as one of their team members.
Meanwhile cycling bug bit me at @32 yrs. Been going ever since. You would be amazed how many women become attracted to cycling at mid-life and beyond.
I have 2 close friends who also discovered cycling in their 50s and are now enthusiasts. I love to ride my bike, but for me it’s a leisure activity and exercise.
I’m here from Lynne Spreen’s blog. Great site you have! I’m looking to jump off of the corporate hamster wheel in 17 months. Can’t wait!
You write well. I cannot write as much as i would like, but I certainly relate to much of what you say. Please keep up the good work.
Thanks Jay. And thanks for visiting my blog.
